Method 1: Default Android Method

This method focuses on using the default screenshot taking feature on Android devices. This feature is hidden and not many people know about it as you can’t find any screenshot app in your app drawer. It comes with almost all Android devices and you’ll be able to take screenshots on your Moto G in just a couple of seconds by using a simple button combination. If you’re looking for a simple and effective way to capture instant screenshots, then this is the best option.

Step 1

Go to the screen that you want to capture. For example, if you want to take a screenshot of a text message, open that conversation in your phone.

Step 2

Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously. Release the buttons once you hear a camera shutter sound or see a notification on the screen. That’s it! You have successfully taken a screenshot on your Moto G.

Step 3

View the screenshot through your notifications panel or from the Gallery app.

Method 2: Screenshot Easy

Another great way to take screenshot on Moto G is  with the Screenshot Easy app. The app brings several triggers and advanced features and you might need root access in order to use some of these advanced features. The app features several triggers including shaking, overlay button, notification icon and widget. My favorite thing about this app is its interface as the app in a tiled format so you you can see the thumbnails and share as you please. You can also select multiple screenshots and share them from within the app. Aside from that, the app features a light and a dark theme and also lets you capture screenshots without the camera shutter sound.

Step 1

Download and install the Screenshot Easy app on your Moto G. You can get the app through the Google Play button below.

Step 2

Launch the app and select the triggers that you want to use. For example, if you want to use the key combination trigger, enable the BUTTON COMBO option. You can also enable multiple triggers.

Step 3

You can now go to settings and edit things like saving silently, starting on boot, themes and screenshot adjustments.

Step 4

Tap on Start capture in order to activate the app.

Step 5

Go to the screen that you want to capture and use your desired trigger to capture the screenshot. For example, shake the device if you want to use the shake trigger. That’s it!

Method 3: Easy Screenshot (aScreenshot)

This method focuses on using a third-party app from the Google Play store to take screenshots on your device. Easy Screenshot might not work properly if you don’t have root access on your Moto G. You can learn more about rooting in our rooting guide. You might be wondering why the app needs root access as you can easily capture screenshots without root access using Method 1.The thing is that this app doesn’t just let you take basic screenshots, but it also brings several advanced features and triggers for capturing the screenshots that require root access. You can shake the device, set a delay timer, press the on-screen button and use the notifications bar to take the screenshot. Aside from that, the app also lets you choose the image quality, format and the directory where you want the screenshot files to be saved.

Step 1

Download and install the Easy Screenshot (aScreenshot) app on your Moto G. You can get the app through the Google Play button below.

Step 2

Launch the app and select the trigger that you want to use. For example, if you want to use the shake feature, tap on the Shake option. You can also edit other settings, such as image quality, image format, shake sensitivity and directory. Tap on the Start button in order to enable the app.

Step 3

Go to the screen that you want to capture and use your selected trigger to capture the screenshot. That’s it!

I never thought that I would capture screenshots on my phone, but now, I can’t imagine not having this feature. The Moto G is a great Android smartphone and if you want to share your experience with others, then you can easily capture screenshots using the methods mentioned above. Method 1 is the best option if you don’t want advanced features as you’ll be able to capture screenshots in just a couple of seconds.
