Archive those emails!
Before we move ahead, let’s understand what archiving is and which emails you should archive! What is archiving? Securely storing data for long periods of time in a database is called archiving. Email archiving ensures that the archived email remains searchable and is not deleted, even by accident, and it remains safe somewhere outside the inbox. However, when someone replies to the archived mail, it will once again appear in the inbox. Crucial data such as media files, bank information, documents, and business data are generally archived and accessed when needed. The main objective of archiving emails is to store vital data and attachments securely and to keep the inbox clean.
Why should you delete emails?
Instead of archiving all the emails, delete those emails you feel would never be required again in the future. This simple action will free up the storage in your cloud. To do this, move your emails to Trash and also delete them from Trash permanently if they are of no purpose. Believe it or not, the electricity used in sending a typical mail is responsible for 4g CO2 emissions. Moreover, if the mail has an image attachment, the emission rises to 50g. Cleaning up unwanted emails will reduce the electricity requirement in storing emails and thus reduce the carbon footprint. I recommend you delete worthless mails every now and then and unsubscribe from channels you don’t want to be updated from. Coming back to archiving, follow these steps to archive and find archived emails in Gmail.
